  2.               THE OFFICIAL MED USERS GROUP DISK LIST.

  4.     Since MUG started in January this year, we have put together 
  5.     a number of disks which we feel EVERY user of MED should 
  6.     have in their collection. For the first time, the whole list 
  7.     of disks is printed here with an in-deapth description of 
  8.     each. Not many, we'll agree but it's QUALITY we're talking 
  9.     about here not QUANTITY! You are bound to have a couple of 
  10.     these disks... If you wish to order any, please see the TIPD
  11.         section for more details. Alternatively, read below about how 
  12.         you can obtain these for far cheaper...

  15.     TOTAL IRRELEVANCE - The MED Users Group Disk Magazine.
  16.  
  17.     Total Irrelevance (TI) is the disk magazine for everyone who 
  18.     is uses MED or simply is interested in music on the Amiga. 
  19.     It is aimed at everyone from the newcomer to the 
  20.     professional. TI attempts to keep up to date with the Amiga 
  21.     music `scene' while still trying to keep it's articles 
  22.     intersting and varied. The main emphasis however, is on fun 
  23.     and every TI has a strange twist of humour to it. Each disk 
  24.     will run on ALL Amigas and contains not only articles but 
  25.     numerous quality modules and a drawer of samples for your 
  26.     colection. All three issues are listed below, along with a 
  27.     few details about them.

  29.     Total Irrelevace Volume One - May 1993

  31.     Not very well presented, but the effort was there! The main 
  32.     mistake was to put three VERY memory intensive modules on 
  33.     the disk leaving little room for anything else! Still, it's 
  34.     worth a look if you want to see how it all began... TI1 is 
  35.     most remembered for the first Beyond The Bedroom's awful 
  36.     pictures, these have to be seen to be believed!

  54.     By the second issue, we'd majorly improved on disk 
  55.     presentation. It featured an updated menu system which was 
  56.     spread over three pages and also the ability to change 
  57.     modules without rebooting which proved very poular. The disk 
  58.     contained FIVE modules and another drawer of samples, plus 
  59.     more articles and a special feature on OctaMED V5 which was 
  60.     just to be released...

  84.     note about this volume. The Pick and Mix library was 
  85.     extended beyond belief and most of the editorial was written 
  86.     in a tent whilst I was on holiday in Cornwall!

  103.     FRIENDS OF PAULA - A series of quality music disks.

  105.     The trilogy of `Friends Of Paula' disks have become 
  106.     `infamous' amongst members of MUG. They contain some of the 
  107.     best examples of computer music ever produced. Written by 
  108.     TI's resident reviewer Chris `The Raven' Wright, each disk 
  109.     is jammed packed with quality MED modules, check out 
  110.     `Friends Of Paula' today and we guarantee you'll want to be 
  111.     one!

  116.     Although the disk's presentation is a little rough, the mod 
  117.     quality is apparant throughout. From the upbeat `Wild and 
  118.     Lonely' to the ballad `Vision of Love' this disk doesn't 
  119.     need fancy graphics to impress, just close your eyes and 
  120.     listen.
